Buffalo Bisons

The Buffalo Bisons baseball team is the oldest professional sports team in Buffalo. The Bisons having been playing baseball in Buffalo for over 100 years, in that time they have won ten League Championships including Governor Cup Titles in 1998 and 2004. Many star players have played in Buffalo including baseball Hall of Famers Johnny Bench, Jim Bunning, Ferguson Jenkins, Lou Boudreau and Connie Mack. Also, current day stars Cliff Lee, Manny Ramirez, C.C. Sabathia and Tim Wakefield.

See their memorabilia dating back to the early 1900’s. Witness the grand opening of Pilot Field and watch as Tom Prince clouts the first homer in the stadium’s history. Visit some of the team’s greatest players by seeing photos and video of Luke Easter, Tim Wakefield, Johnny Bench and many other star Bisons players. Learn how the Bisons almost became a founding franchise in the American Baseball League in 1901 and instead became the Boston Red Sox who won Baseball’s first World Series.
